A Tataviam Creation Story - Collector's Edition Hard Cover Book
A traditional storyteller and elder in the Ferdandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians, Alan writes to enliven his traditional culture and share the story of what archeologists have called "the forgotten tribe". His new Creation Story shares how the animals are respected teachers, and how they created the Tataviam people.
" In order for tribal culture to survive, we must sing new songs and tell new stories. This is my original creation story. I tell it in the spirit of my Tataviam ancestors." Alan Salazar
A short history of the Tataviam tribe is included as well as a chapter about the qualities of the animal teachers. This story is a perfect complement to third and fourth grade studies of tribal cultures.
