     New from Alan Salazar! A traditional storyteller and elder in the Chumash and Ferdandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians, Alan brings us a collection of five traditional Chumash legends. Each story is followed by a short history lesson about Chumash people.

     Included also is a glossary of the Chumash words used in the book and a QR code for their pronunciation.

      Mona Lewis has illustrated all the images using earth pigments respectfully foraged within Chumash lands and includes lessons on paint making in the last chapter.
